What is a Shipping Mark?

Get It Right

The Thai Customs Act has undergone a slight change with regards to the marking of goods moving in and out of Thailand. Although the change has primarily been in the wording of the Thai Customs Act,  it is important to remember that all goods going into or out of Thailand should adhere to the following requirements :

  • All import and export shipments must include a shipping mark on outer packages
  • Shipping marks must be included on House Air Waybill’s / House Bills of Lading
  • Shipping marks must be included on commercial invoices / packing lists
  • Shipping marks listed on all commercial documents must accurately depict those on the actual packages.

There is a statutory penalty of 50,000 THB under the new Customs Act for non-compliance with the requirements for shipping marks
